Fortunately, when we were younger, we had more options. Thank you so much. We haven't seen or spoken in about 40 yrs. This is the best birthday present (New decade last wk). I have a jobs without college story. After my son was about 3 yrs old. Got a temporary job with a feminist organization which turned into full time counseling/advocacy position. Worked with some amazing women there. I learned so many things from them. I actually remember a time when my ex husband and my mother were whispering about how much I was changing. It was the sisterhood helping me grow. Stayed there for about 13yrs. Got a position In New Orleans (same field). It was supposed to be marketing for three offices on the Gulf Coast. Sounded great!!!! Turned out to be quite a challenge they certainly were not feminist and I didn't really get to do job I was hired for. Had a blast in NOLA tho. Stayed in NOLA for almost 10 yrs. I do regret not furthering my formal education sometimes but feel like my life experiences have been more than adequate. Got thru this life just fine a few bumps along the road but still thriving.
